Women’s Soccer: Long Beach moves to 3-1 in SCC with 2-0 win over L.A. Harbor
Freshmen Erica Rojas (pictured) and Stephanie Barrera both scored goals in a 2-0 Long Beach City College women’s soccer win over visiting Los Angeles Harbor College on Friday. The South Coast Conference victory improved LBCC to 6-3-1 overall and 3-1-0 in conference play.

Freshmen Erica Rojas (Lakewood HS) and Stephanie Barrera (Bellflower HS) both scored goals in a 2-0 Long Beach City College women's soccer win over visiting Los Angeles Harbor College on Friday. The South Coast Conference victory improved LBCC to 6-3-1 overall and 3-1-0 in conference play.
Rojas got LBCC on the board with her goal in the 39th minute off the corner kick from sophomore Joanna Perone (San Pedro HS). And Barrera closed out the scoring, blasting a shot in from 20 yards out just moments before the final whistle.
Freshman goalkeepers Evelyn Fierros (Bishop Amat HS) and Isabella Reynoso (Lakewood HS) as well as the LBCC defense combined for their fourth shutout of the season. Fierros had two saves in the first half with Reynoso closing out the win with three saves.
Long Beach returns to action on Tuesday (Oct. 13) when the Vikings host Mt. San Antonio College in a 4 p.m. SCC game.
