The Long Beach City College women's soccer team saw its five-game unbeaten streak come to an end following a 2-0 South Coast Conference loss to visiting East Los Angeles College on Tuesday. The setback dropped the Vikings' record to 6-4-3 overall and 3-2-2 in the SCC.

Long Beach couldn't really find a rhythm on offense against the Huskies. Despite shots being even at 8-8 for the match, it was East Los Angeles that took control of the game after a scoreless first half. The Huskies stole momentum with a quick goal in the 47th minute by Leslie Carballo and put the game out of reach with a goal by Lizeth Delgado in the 62nd minute.

Sophomore goalkeeper Evelyn Fierros (Bishop Amat HS) kept the Huskies off the scoreboard in the first half and needed to make just one save. Sophomore Isabella Reynoso (Lakewood HS) allowed both second-half goals and picked up three saves on consecutive shots by East Los Angeles (6-6-2, 4-1-2 SCC) in front of the goal in the 54th minute.

Long Beach returns to action on Friday (Oct. 23) when the Vikings host rival Cerritos College in a 4 p.m. SCC game.
