The Long Beach City College women's soccer team remained undefeated with a 3-1 victory over Golden Valley on Saturday morning to cap off play in the Nike Community College Showcase in Ventura, CA. Julianna Carrillo did her due diligence in the matter by netting to goals, while Casey Angers helped make two goals a reality by dishing out two assists en route to the victory.

Long Beach was in the driver's seat for the majority of the game. They carted a heavy foot by unleashing 24 shots to Golden West's four attempts.

Carrillo's first netter came in the 16th minute of action after Savannah Christensen located her for the assist. She scored again in the 63rd minute with a little help from Angers who set her up for the goal.

Christensen buried a netter to seal the deal in the 86th minute, marking her second-consecutive game with a score. She tallied three points on the day.

Ronnie Gonzalez earned her third victory between the posts by clocking a full 90 minutes of action.

"Our team is really starting to gel." explained Head Coach Sean Reeves. "Our biggest asset right now is our fitness. We can run the 90 minutes and end matches with energy and ahead of our opponents."

The Vikings (3-0-0) will return home on Tuesday, September 6 to face off against L.A. Valley at 4 p.m. on Viking Soccer Field.
