All it took was relentless pressure and a goal off the foot of sophomore midfielder Miranda Kaekul (North Hollywood, CA) for the Long Beach City College women's soccer team to take down L.A. Valley on Tuesday evening on the Viking Soccer Field. The victory marks the Viking's fourth in a row as they remain undefeated on the season.

Kaekul took charge early in the contest by firing off a shot in opening minute, but missed by a slight margin. However, in the 29th minute, Kaekul found the back of the net following a posied, back-heel pass from freshman defender Jocelyn Gonzalez (Paramount, CA) at the top of the box to earn the assist on the play.

That was all the cushion Long Beach needed after a defensive unit proved dominate over L.A. Valley. Sophomore defender Katin Trowbridge (Long Beach, CA) manned the backline and did so efficiently by allowing minimal pressure. Freshman midfielder Alana Rouse (Long Beach, CA), sophomore defender Terica Johnson (Lakewood, CA), freshman midfielder Casey Angers (Seal Beach, CA) and freshman defender Aubree Furman (Long Beach, CA) provided a hardy helping hand.

The stout defensive unit made freshman goalkeeper Isabel Lozano's (Long Beach, CA) job much easier en route to her second-consecutive victory. She hauled in three saves in 90 minutes of play.

Long Beach held the edge on offensive as the clocked ticked down by owning the shooting margin at 16-6. Additionally, they etched eight corner kicks to L.A. Valley's two.

Head Coach Sean Reeves is continuously impressed with his team's performance, but it is no surprise to him the success they are showing early on in the season.

"A 4-0 start is amazing," he expressed. "It's something we hoped for and we are getting. We are a team that is on a roll right now and we want to keep that going."

The Vikings (4-0-0) will hit the road on Friday, September 9 to take on Mt. San Jacinto (1-0) at 2 p.m.
