LBCC Women's Soccer Ends in Scoreless Draw against East L.A.

The Long Beach City College women's soccer team played host to the East Los Angeles City College Huskies on Tuesday evening in non-conference action looking to get back in the win column. In a game that was evenly matched on both sides fo the pitch, LBCC ended the game in a scoreless draw.

Long Beach hammered off 15 shots in the game with eight of the attempts landing on frame. Freshman forward Stephanie Barrera was the most active on the day by launching nine shots - many coming from long distance in hopes to catch the goalkeeper at an awkward angle. Sophomore forward Savannah Christensen backed her with two shots with one coming on frame. 

Freshman goalkeeper Ronnie Gonzalez earned the draw after reeling in four saves through the duration of the contest. 

Long Beach owned the shot margin at 15-10 while registering three more corner kicks than East L.A. 

The Vikings (7-4-3, 2-1-1 SCC) will take to the road on Friday, October 21 to face off against Rio Hondo at 2 p.m.
