Two Former 2015 Women's Soccer Players Named to CCCAA Academic All-State Team

It was announced this week by the California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) that a pair of former women's soccer athletes, Joanna Perone and Niki Voulgaris, were named to the 2015-16 CCCAA Academic All-State team following their solid work in the classroom.

Perone was a two-year member of the Viking's women's soccer program by playing in 37 games while starting in 30. During her second season, Perone turned on the gas and had a career-year by scoring six goals and dishing out fives assists for a total of 17points. This reliable midfielder hit the books for a cumulative GPA of 3.61 to earn her spot on the list.

Voulgaris was a workhorse for the Vikings during her lone year at Long Beach. She started in all 20 games she participated in during the 2015 season. Aside from manning the backline, she set home four netters and dished out one assist to equal nine career points. She eanred a 3.59 in the classroom to earn her accolade. Voulgaris continued on to played for the Southern Utah University Thunderbirds at the Division I level.
