The women's soccer team fell to the Saddleback Gauchos 2-1 Tuesday afternoon in their home opener. The Vikings struggled to catch up to the Gauchos in the second half as they scored once more to take the lead.

In the first half of the game, sophomore forward Julianna Carrillo was the first to put the ball in the back of the net for the Vikings in the 33rd minute. Forward Aubree Furman was also aggressive offensively with taking three shots on the Gauchos.

Saddleback tied the game shortly after Carrillo's goal in the 37th min and then scored once more in the second half to take home the victory.

Women's soccer will play again in their second home game on Friday, Sept. 8 at 2 p.m.
