The Long Beach City College women's soccer team fell to the Cerritos College Falcons 2-1 at Veterans Memorial Stadium on Friday afternoon. With the loss, the Vikings drop to 10-5 overall and 2-2 in the South Coast Conference.
The Falcons scored two goals in the first half to command the lead 2-0. After the break, freshman forward Melissa Monjaraz smashed a free kick to the back of the Falcons' net to bring the score up 2-1.
The Vikings powered through the rest of the game, but ultimately fell to the Falcons 2-1. The Long Beach City College women's soccer team will return to the field on Tuesday, Nov. 5 at LA Harbor College at 3 p.m.
