San Diego, Calif. - Sophomore forward Allison Rose Veloz paced the Viking offense as the women's soccer team dominated Miramar, 13-0, in its season opener on Friday morning.
Veloz counted six goals, counting four of the team's six first half scores, with six other Vikings earning a goal. Freshman forward Alieza Vargas Deason backed her up with a pair.
Freshmen Andrea Martinez, Alicia Yepez, Nayeli Naranjo, Brianna Rios, and Autumn Jones all counted a goal each.
Jones also earned a pair of assists with freshman Jennifer Skrumbis leading in the assists column with four. Freshmen Haley Obenshain, Monserrath Galindo, and Danielle Dimmick all tallied an assist.
The Vikings (1-0) return to action on Tuesday, Aug. 31 when they head to San Diego Mesa for a 7 p.m. match.
