Vikings Lose to El Camino in Extra Minutes

The Long Beach City College Vikings women's soccer team dramatically fell in the final extra minutes of the game to the El Camino College Warriors 2-1 on Tuesday evening. With the loss, the Vikings drop to 7-6-2 overall and 4-4-0 in conference play.
Freshman goalkeeper Jocelynn Sotelo put in work as she had three huge saves in the cage. She was a defensive force that knocked out a solo Warrior counter attack and out-witted a penalty shot.
Sophomore forward Jennifer Skrumbis scored the only Viking goal at the end of the first half, but then the Warriors bounced back to tie the game in the second half at the 73rd minute and then finalized their win in extra time.
The Vikings will return to the field on Friday, Oct. 29 against Cerritos at 1 p.m. at Veterans Memorial Stadium.
