Women’s Soccer Shuts Out Mt. San Jacinto in Season Opener

The Long Beach City College women's soccer team dominated Mt. San Jacinto in their season opener with a 5-0 victory.

Goalkeeper sophomore Veronica Salcido led the shutout on defense as she didn't let any goals go by her.

Sophomore forward Evelyn Sandoval was first to the Eagles' net with an assist from forward Hannah Marshall. Then Sandoval assisted midfielder Kenia Iniguez for the Vikings' second goal.

The Vikings scored two more goals in the first half from forwards Genesis Lopez and Kiana Moore. Then in the second half, forward Diana Leon had the perfect touch from midfielder Lluvia Mariscal to score the Vikings' final goal to seal the 5-0 win.

The Vikings will be back in action on Tuesday, Sept. at home against San Diego Mesa at 2 p.m.
