Women’s Soccer Takes Down Rio Hondo, Advances to Conference Finals

The No. 5 women's soccer team defeated Rio Hondo College 6-2 on Tuesday afternoon in the South Coast Conference semi-finals. The Vikings are still undefeated with a 13-0-5 overall record and a 7-0-2 record in conference action.

Midfielder Paige Rodriguez stood out offensively for the Vikings as she scored three Vikings goals and assisted on one. Forward Hannah Marshall followed close behind two with goals, while forward Kiana Moore scored one and assisted on two.

Goalkeepers Veronica Salcido and Leila Saldic split the game and didn't let the Roadrunners near the cage.

With the win, the Vikings advance to the Finals of the conference tournament which will be on Friday, November 9, at 7 p.m. at Long Beach City College against Mt.SAC. The Vikings are looking to become back-to-back South Coast Conference Champions as they won their first conference crown last season since 2005.
