Women’s Soccer Takes All in Conference Awards, Coach Nunes Earns Coach of the Year
11 women's soccer athletes were recognized with Conference top honors.
It was announced by the South Coast Conference that 11 Long Beach City College women's soccer athletes earned All-SCC honors following a first-place showing in the SCC and a 7-0-2 record.
Sophomore forward Paige Rodriguez earned the top award as the Offensive Player of the Year as she led the conference with 10 goals and had 8 assists. She has been a consistent threat to her opponents and a huge offensive asset for the Vikings this season.
Sophomore defender Rya Cabral also earned the top award for Defensive Player of the Year. She led the team in the South Coast Conference with a .47 goals allowed average.
Freshman Veronica Salcido was named the Goalie of the Year as she led the conference with a .51 GAVG.
Rounding out the top awards, Head Coach Eduardo Nunes was named the Coach of the Year for the second year in a row.
