Women’s Swim Takes Fourth at CCCAA State Championship

After reeling in the South Coast Conference Championship, the men's and women's swim and dive teams competed in the California Community College Athletics Association State Championships at East Los Angeles College over the weekend.

Here are the standings for both teams:

WOMEN'S STANDINGS: 1. Orange Coast 380, 2. Sierra 241.5, 3. Cuesta 157, 4. Long Beach CC 152, 5. Riverside CC 138, 6. Diablo Valley 136, 7. San Diego Mesa 134, 8. San Joaquin Delta 133, 9. Santa Barbara CC 127, 10. Santa Monica 119.

MEN'S STANDINGS: 1. Sierra 380, 2. Orange Coast 293, 3. Cuesta 250, 4. American River 220, 5. Diablo Valey 180, 6. Palomar 169, 7. Golden West 164, 8. College of the Sequoias 112.5, 9. Saddleback 101.5, 10. Long Beach CC 100.

For the women's team, Atiya Yuwana placed third in the 200 yard individual medley, 100-yard backstroke, and the 200-yard backstroke.

On the men's side, Jakob Fransen placed third in the 3-meter dive with a score of 172.95 and sixth in the 1-meter dive with a 217.05 score. Sullivan Moore also placed in third for the Vikings in the 100-yard butterfly and fifth in the 50-yard freestyle.
