Women's Volleyball: LBCC snaps losing streak with sweep of LA Trade Tech

The Long Beach City College women's volleyball team cruised to a 3-0 sweep over visiting Los Angeles Trade Tech College on Friday night at LBCC.

The Vikings won the match by scores of 25-14, 25-20, 25-23 to improve to 8-11 overall and 5-6 in the SCC. The win also snapped a three-match losing streak.

Freshman Louise Jacques (pictured) had her finest match of the season, posting 10 kills, eight digs, and one ace to pace the Vikings.

Freshman Lani Samoa also had 10 kills, while freshman Doreen Iosua had a team-high 11 digs to go with eight kills. Sophomore setter Kelsey Dix led all with 31 assists.

For Trade Tech (2-13, 0-11 SCC), setter Jennifer Arana led her squad with six kills and eight assists.

Long Beach returns to action on Wednesday (Nov 9) when it travels to face Mt. San Antonio College at 6 pm.
