Long Beach, Calif. - The Long Beach City College women's volleyball program announced its 2021 schedule on Tuesday.

The Vikings open the 2021 slate at home, hosting San Diego Mesa on Friday, Aug. 27 at 5 p.m. in the volleyball gym in the Q Building before heading to College of the Canyons the following day for a 6 p.m. match.

Three contests against Santa Barbara (Sept. 1) at home and two away matches at Orange Coast (Sept. 3) and Cypress (Sept. 8) wrap up the non-conference portion of the schedule. All three match times are slated for 6 p.m.

Heading into South Coast Conference play, LBCC opens the double-round robin competition at LA Harbor on Friday, Sept. 10. The two marquee matchups during SCC play against rival, El Camino, will take place at home on Friday, Oct. 8 and on the road on Wednesday, Nov. 10.

The Vikings will wrap regular-season competition with the SCC Tournament. The revised tournament will feature the top six teams from the SCC with the first round being played at the higher seed on Friday, Nov. 12, and the semifinals and championship matches to be played at El Camino on Saturday, Nov. 13. 

The Vikings finished their 2019 campaign with a 20-8 overall record, 15-2 in conference - good for second. The team advanced to the SoCal Regional Playoffs, dropping a five-set heartbreaker to Orange Coast at home.
