No. 16 Vikings suffer first conference loss, drop 3-0 match at No. 3 Pasadena

Facing their toughest test of the season, the No. 16 state-ranked Long Beach City College women's volleyball team suffered a 3-0 (25-16, 25-12, 25-17) loss at No. 3 Pasadena City College on Wednesday.

The Vikings lost for the first time in South Coast Conference play, falling to 3-1 and 5-4 overall this season. PCC moved to 8-1 and 3-0.

Long Beach couldn't get much going offensively against the Lancers, committing 18 attack errors with 24 kills on the night.

Jennifer Lias led the Vikings with nine kills and nine digs while Abeni Williams-Lowery had five kills. Setter Pearlnaiah Tuliau posted 16 assists and seven digs and Kennedy Freeman chipped in with four kills and four blocks.

The Vikings return to action on Friday (Sep. 24) when they rival host Cerritos College in a 6 p.m. South Coast Conference match.
