Long Beach City College sophomore setter Pearlnaiah Tuliau and Hartnell outside hitter Renee Nachtigall are the CCCWVCA State Players of the Week #10.

Tuliau, an All-South Coast Conference First Team selection from two seasons, returned to play after red-shirting last year. A versatile 5-foot-7 performer out of Long Beach Polytechnic High, she made a triple-double on Oct. 13 v. El Camino when she scored 10 kills, set 29 assists, and made 10 digs.

Last week in two matches, she totaled 40 assists in six sets in two victories. She is the team captain of the Vikings team that is #12 in this week's state rankings and has led the squad to win 17 of 19 matches.

The 6-1 Nachtigall, from Germany, is a repeat winner of the award, having also earned a POTW last year in week #12. The Panther was an All-NorCal Region selection as a freshman and is poised to be an All-State player as a sophomore. She is fifth in the state in hitting percentage (.388), 12th in kills with 277, and 13th in total points with 324.

She has helped a red-hot Hartnell team to 12 straight wins and a current first place in the Coast Conference North Division.

Last week, she matched her season-high with 22 kills in a 4-set win over Monterey Peninsula.
