The No. 3-ranked Long Beach City College Vikings dominated Rio Hondo with a straight-set sweep last Friday evening.
"It was great to face Rio Hondo, especially with some of our starters sidelined," said Director of Volleyball Operations and Head Coach Tyler Jackson. "We're fortunate to have such a talented roster that allows other players to step up and fill those roles seamlessly. I also want to give a special shoutout to St. Anthony High School for coming out to support us."
Setter Tyreana Allen led the team with 14 assists, while fellow setter Camille Agrupis added 12 assists. Opposite Alanna Jones powered the offense with 10 kills, with outside hitter Ryannah Gagau and middle blocker Jubilee Allen contributing 8 kills each. Gagau also posted 4 service aces and 4 digs. Libero Kaylani Moncada anchored the defense with 13 digs.
The Vikings return to action on Wednesday, Oct. 2, when they take on Mt. San Antonio College at 6 p.m. for their first conference matchup of the season.
