The state-ranked No. 4 Vikings secured a dominant 3-0 sweep over Compton College.
The state-ranked No. 4 Long Beach City College (LBCC) Vikings secured a dominant 3-0 sweep over Compton College on Friday evening. With this victory, the Vikings improved to an impressive 15-1 overall record and 3-1 in South Coast Conference play.
LBCC cruised past the Tartars with decisive set wins of 25-14, 25-6, and 25-8. This win followed the team's first loss of the season earlier in the week to Cerritos College.
"We've had a tough week," said sophomore outside hitter Alexandra Rosquin. "Tonight's game brought us back together. We had a lot of fun out there, and that's how we should play every time."
Jubilee Allen led the Vikings with 8 kills, while Enaya Vaielua contributed 5 aces and 20 assists. Tyreana added 9 assists, 3 aces, and 3 digs, playing a key role in the Vikings' return to form.
"It's tough when a starter gets injured, but the strength of this team is our depth," said Director of Volleyball Operations and Head Coach Tyler Jackson. "We have a lot of different options, which puts us in a strong position moving forward. I'm confident we'll be fully prepared for the playoffs."
The Vikings will return to action on Friday, Oct. 25, against LA City College at 6 p.m.
