Women's Water Polo: LBCC set to host 14th annual Battle at the Beach
Long Beach City College hosts the 2011 truWest Battle at the Beach women's water polo tournament this weekend (Oct. 21-22). This year's field features 21 teams, the largest in the history of the tournament.

Long Beach City College hosts the 2011 truWest Battle at the Beach women's water polo tournament this weekend (Oct. 21-22). This year's field features 21 teams, the largest in the history of the tournament. Games will be played at LBCC and nearby Cypress College.
This year's tournament should be the most competitive in the state as ranked teams competing include No. 1 Riverside, No. 2 Golden West, No. 3 LBCC, No. 4 Fullerton, and No. 7 Merced.
Host Long Beach enters the tourney with a 13-6 overall record. The Vikings are coming off an 8-5 South Coast Conference win at Chaffey College on Wednesday.
On Friday at LBCC, the Vikings will open the tournament with a 7 a.m. contest against Cuesta. Long Beach returns to the pool to take on Fullerton at 3:40 p.m.
Directions to: LBCC - The LBCC aquatic center is located on the south side of campus (south of Carson St.) directly accross from the tennis courts. A daily parking permit is required.
