Women's Water Polo: Tough opening day for LBCC at the Battle at the Beach
The Long Beach City College women's water polo team went 0-2 to open the 16th annual TruWest Battle at the Beach tournament on Friday. The Vikings suffered a 14-5 loss to Fullerton and then was edged 7-5 by LA Valley. Adrienne Alaniz (pictured) scored twice in the loss to LA Valley.
The Long Beach City College women's water polo team went 0-2 to open the 16th annual TruWest Battle at the Beach tournament on Friday. The Vikings suffered a 14-5 early-morning loss to No. 3 state-ranked Fullerton College and then was edged 7-5 by No. 7-ranked Los Angeles Valley College later in the day.
Sophomore Ranya El-Tawil (Wilson HS) and freshman Adrienne Alaniz (Wilson HS, pictured) both scored two goals for Long Beach in the loss to Fullerton.
The Vikings will face No. 4-ranked Grossmont College on at Saturday (Oct 26) at 8:05 AM in a game played at Cypress College.
