Women’s Water Polo: Long Beach comeback falls short in 7-6 loss at Mt. SAC

It was more of the same on Wednesday as LBCC suffered its first South Coast Conference loss, a narrow 7-6 defeat at Mt. San Antonio College.

Long Beach was down 4-2 after the first quarter and faced a 5-2 deficit at halftime. The Vikings came alive with three goals in the third quarter on their way to outscoring Mt. SAC 4-2 over the second half but couldn't get the equalizer.
Sophomore Makenna Oberst (Los Alamitos HS/Concordia University-Irvine) led LBCC with three goals to go with three steals while sophomore Ashley Diaz (Esperanza HS) chipped in with a goal, three assists, and three steals.
Freshman Felicia DePalma (St. Joseph HS) posted four saves in goal for the Vikings.
Long Beach, now 10-6 overall and 3-1 in SCC play, returns to action on Monday (Oct. 12) at 3 p.m. when the Vikings host rival Cerritos College in a conference game.
