The women's water polo team defeated the Chaffey College Panthers 15-7 in their sixth consecutive conference win on Wednesday afternoon in the VIking Aquatics Complex. Sophomore goalkeeper Maggie Bennett led the team defensively in their big win.

A the end of the first quarter, the Panthers led the Vikings 3-2. Sophomore centers Victoria Johnson and Lindsey Mizrahi put themselves on the board with one point each. 

In the second quarter, the Vikings picked up some offensive steam by taking the lead 7-4. Nicole Adams, Stephany Velazquez and Harlie Whelan all put up points along with Johnson and Mizrahi. 

In total, Johnson led the Vikings to victory by totaling five points. Charli Chavarria, Lindsey Mizrahi, Nicole Adams and Harlie Whelan all scored two points each for Long Beach. 

The women's water polo team will play again in the Vikings Aquatic Complex on Wednesday, Oct. 18 in their seventh conference game against Cerritos College at 3 p.m.
