The women's water polo team were crowned 2018 South Coast Conference Champions for the fourth-consecutive year.

The Vikings participated in the South Coast Conference Championship Tournament over the weekend at Cerritos College as the No.1 seed in the tournament. The Vikings' opened the tournament with a 16-5 win against No. 4 Chaffey College. Sophomore Harlie Whelan and freshmen Alejandra Villa and Sydney Brightenburg each scored three goals against the Panthers. Whelan totaled four assists and had one turn-over and Villa tallied three steals for the Vikings.

The Vikings then advanced to the Championship round and defeated No. 2 Mount San Antonio College 11-8. Villa and Brightenburg led the Vikings with five goals each and sophomore goalkeeper Cam Rosas totaled seven saves in four quarters. Rosas has totaled 139 saves so far this season. Freshman defender Samantha Martinez had four steals in the game against the Mounties and holds 26 steals on the season. 

The Vikings will return to action in the SoCal Regional Playoffs on Friday, Nov. 9 at 10:15 a.m.
