The No. 4 women's water polo team was crowned the 2019 South Coast Conference Champions after their 12-6 win over Cerritos College on Saturday evening. This is the Vikings fifth-consecutive conference title.

The Vikings were fresh from the start as they opened the game with a 3-1 lead over the Falcons. In the second quarter, the Vikings kept pushing and ended halftime still in the lead 5-2.

In the third quarter, the Vikings cranked out five more goals and then finished the game with the 12-6 conference victory.

Freshman goalkeeper Alinna Perez was a force in the cage as she had 15 stops to the Falcons' offense. Freshman attacker Rachel Westphal led the team with six goals, followed by sophomore defender Karissa Qualley with four goals for the Vikings.

The No. 4 women's water polo team will return to the pool next weekend in the SoCal Regional Playoffs at Riverside City College.
