Water Polo Extends Conference Winning Streak to 6-0

The Vikings took down the Pasadena City College Lancers 24-6 on Wednesday afternoon at the Los Alamitos Air Force Base. With the win, the Vikings extend their South Coast Conference winning streak to 6-0, and are 14-8 overall.

Freshman attacker Lisa Bautista led the pack with seven goals against the Lancers. Freshman attacker Rochelle Beavers netted four goals for the Vikings, while freshman attacker Rylie Guglielmotti, freshman center Carlotta Zandali, freshman utility Kaya Barrett, freshman attacker Analise Burch and freshman utility Daphne Wilder each tallied a pair.

The Vikings were first to the ball each quarter and kicked off the first period with eight goals, while only allowing the Lancers to two. In the second quarter, the Vikings scored four more while freshman goalkeeper Haden Bates shut-out Pasadena. In the second half, Bates took a break while sophomore attacker Macy Payne took over in the cage and didn't allow Pasadena to score in the third quarter. In the fourth and final quarter, the Vikings scored four more goals and allowed two to Pasadena to end the game with the 24-6 conference win.

The Vikings will play again in the Battle of the Beach Tournament on Friday, Oct. 22 at Cypress College.
