Oeding Earns Fifth Coach of the Year, Westphal Named SCC MVP
Seven women's water polo athletes earned All-Conference selections following a first place showing in the SCC Tournament.

It was recently announced by the South Coast Conference that seven Long Beach City College women's water polo athletes earned All-Conference selections following a first place showing in the SCC Tournament and 23-9 overall record at the end of the season.
Head Coach Chris Oeding was selected for his fifth consecutive SCC Coach of the Year award after having another undefeated 10-0 season. Sophomore attacker and two-time first-team awardee, Rachel Westphal was named the conference's Most Valuable Player as she totaled 53 goals, 26 assists and 29 steals.
First team honors went to freshman center Chayma Hlanadif, freshman utility Kaya Barrett, freshman goalie Haden Bates, and freshman attacker Amara Maxwell. Hlanadif was a always a threat in the middle by scoring 49 goals, while Bates held down the cage with 227 saves. Barrett totaled 42 goals with 29 assists and 34 steals and Maxwell had 24 goals, 30 assists and 42 steals.
Second-team accolades went to freshman attacker Scout Bates, who shot 32 goals, and freshman attacker Sydney Brouwer who had 17 goals and 31 steals.
