Women's Water Polo Takes Charge in Home Opener

The Long Beach women's water polo team dominated the Pasadena City College Lancers 16-1 in their first South Coast Conference game of the season. With the win, the Vikings hold a 3-2 overall record, and are 1-0 in conference play.

The Vikings blasted off with a 6-0 lead in the first quarter and held on to the shut out until the final goal in the fourth quarter. Goalkeeper Hailey Wadlington allowed the Lancers to the final goal, while she totaled 11 saves.

Chayma Hlanadif and Kaya Barrett both led the team with three goals each, while Rylie Guglielmotti, Katie Juarez, and Julia Miller each tallied two goals each for the Vikings.

The Vikings will return to the pool on Friday Sept. 16 at West Valley College at 8 a.m. in the 2022 West Valley Invitational.
