The No. 1 state-ranked Long Beach City College women's water polo team secured a commanding 24-11 victory over Mt. San Antonio College, marking their fifth consecutive win in South Coast Conference (SCC) play. This win extends the Vikings' remarkable undefeated streak in the SCC to 78 games.
Attackers Olivia Slavens and Mar Bernal led the charge, each contributing six goals, while center Olivia Hurley and Jasmine Lopez added three goals apiece.
"We had a rocky start," said attacker Jennifer Connelly. "Offensively, they were running plays we hadn't encountered this season. It took us a quarter to adjust, but we improved significantly once we made the necessary corrections."
The Vikings return to action this Saturday, Oct. 19, as they host the Long Beach Mini Tournament. They'll face West Valley at 8 a.m. and CSU Northridge at 1:30 p.m. at home.
