The top-ranked women's water polo team and the No. 3 men's team from Long Beach City College are headed to the 3C2A State Championships, hosted on their home turf.
The Viking women secured the SoCal Regional Championship title with a decisive win over defending 2023 State Champions Santa Barbara City College. They will now take on No. 4 Merced College on Thursday, November 21, at 8 a.m. The winner advances to the semifinal round on Friday, November 22, at 10:30 a.m.
On the men's side, the Vikings earned third place in the SoCal Regionals. After a hard-fought overtime loss to Orange Coast College in the second round, they bounced back with a 14-11 victory over LA Valley College in the third-place match. They are set to face No. 2 American River College on Thursday, November 21, at 11:45 a.m., with the winner moving on to play Friday, November 22, at 1 p.m.
