Long Beach City College freshman Alexis Ceballos (Port of Los Angeles HS) capped an impressive first season as a Viking with an 119th-place finish at the 2014 California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) Cross Country Championship in Fresno on Saturday.

Ceballos was the first female LBCC runner to qualify for the state championships since 2007. She cleared the 5,000-meter course at Woodward Park with a time of 20:35.4, just one second shy of her season best.

Mt. San Antonio College won the women's team state title with 78 points and Aminat Olowora of Southwestern College was the individual winner with a time of 16:59.7.
