Women’s Cross Country: Long Beach takes 17th place at Southern California Preview Meet

Freshman Asia Muldrow (Frederick K.C. Price III Christian) ran a personal-best time of 21:34.7 to lead the Long Beach City College women's cross country team at the Southern California Preview Meet in San Diego on Friday. The Vikings totaled 426 points to finish in 17th place out of 24 teams.

Muldrow was the Vikings' top runner for the third straight week, finishing in 64th place overall at the 5,000-meter course at Mission Bay Park. Not far behind was sophomore Sonnaca Luckey (Gahr HS) in 83rd place at 22:04.9 followed by freshman Kimberly Munoz (John Glenn HS) in 93rd place with a time of 22:22.9.

Also, freshman Malika Spencer (Westchester HS) had the Vikings' biggest PR of the day, finishing in 103rd place with a career-best time of 22:47.5. Other times for LBCC included freshman Maisie Ahern (Temecula Valley HS) at 24:35.1 (143rd) and freshman Katherine Lopez (Warren HS) at 26:10.4 (163rd).

Long Beach will take the next two weeks off from competition and will return to action on October 9 when the Vikings will compete at the Brubaker Invitational at Irvine Regional Park in Orange.
