Viking Women's Cross Country Places in the Top-Five at Palomar Invitational

The Long Beach City College women's cross country team cruised to a fourth-place finish in the Palomar Invitational on Friday morning at Guajome Park in San Diego, CA amongst impressive competition.

Freshman Destiny Diaz (Bellflower, CA) paced the pack of Vikings by earning an overall time of 20:40 to earn her a top-20 spot and 15th overall. She utilized a 6:40 mile pace to reach her finishing time. Freshman Lauryn Jones (Long Beach, CA) followed up her impressive debut with a 32nd-place finish by crossing the finish line at 22:02 with an average mile pace of 7:06.

The Vikings will hit the trails at Irving Regional Park in Orange, CA for the SoCal Preview Brubaker Invitational at 11 a.m.
