Women’s Cross Country Takes First Place at San Diego XC Kickoff

Over the weekend, the Long Beach City College women's cross-country team took first place in the San Diego XC Kickoff.  Sophomore Ailene Rios was the top individual finisher and set a new course record with a time of 14:00 on the 2.1 mile course. Freshman Natalie Mejia came in next for the Vikings with a 6th place overall finish in the race with a time of 15:16.0

The men's cross-country team took home third place at the San Diego XC Kickoff. The men totaled 82 points behind Cuyamaca College (24 points) and Saddleback College (50 points).

Freshman Riki Moscoso was the top finisher for the Vikings in the 5k race with 4th place overall finish with a time of 17:28. Freshman Noah Macias was the second Viking across the line with a 14th place overall finish in the race.

The Vikings are set to compete next Saturday, Sept. 10 at the Fresno Invitational at Woodward Park.
