LBCC men finish second, women fourth at SCC Championships

Men's Cross Country are back-to-back Runner-Ups at South Coast Conference Championships! 

The Viking men equaled their 2021 team finish by again placing 2nd overall in the team standings with 68 points behind the CCCAA 2nd ranked Mt. SAC Mounties with 16 points. The Viking men showed great toughness throughout the race led by Freshman Riki Moscoso who placed 7th individually earning first team All-Conference Honors. Noah Macias, Alejandro Garcia, Jaydon Moreno, and Kyle Chew rounded out the field for the Vikings who lowered their overall team points (81) from the SCC championship meet a season ago.

The women were also impressive with their team finish as they earned 4th with 89 points behind 3 top 10 CCCAA Ranked opponents. Ailene Rios was impressive finishing 3rd overall for the Vikings to earn 1st team All-Conference Honors. Behind Ailene for the Vikings was Natalie Mejia who earned 2nd team All-Conference honors with a 14th place overall finish. Lorena Galaviz, newcomer Jennifer Martinez, and Frida Hernandez rounded out the top 5 for the women who also lowered their point total (98) from a season ago. Both teams will advance to the SoCal Regional Championships in Bakersfield next Friday, November 4th. Go Vikings!
