The 2012 football schedule was recently released by the Southern California Football Association. Long Beach City College, now playing in the SCFA National Central Conference, will face one of the toughest schedules in the state.

Seven members of the 2011 Long Beach City College football team have been named to the Southern California Football Association Scholar-Athlete Team, which was announced by SCFA Commissioner Jim Sartoris earlier this week. Ryan Craighead's (pictured) 3.57 grade point average was tops on last season’s Viking squad.

Long Beach City College’s Justin Aysse was recently featured by the San Diego Union Tribune prior to signing his national letter of intent to continue his academic and athletic career at San Diego State University. Read the article and check out photos from his signing at LBCC.

Long Beach City College football head coach Mike Reisbig announced the signings of six Vikings that will continue their academic and athletic careers at four-year institutions, with more to come in future weeks. Justin Aysse (pictured, #76) has signed with San Diego State.

The postseason honors for three members of the 2011 Long Beach City College football continued to roll in this week as record-setting wide receiver Travon Payne (pictured) was named to the CCCFCA All-America team while standout quarterback Ryan Craighead and safety Dennis Buckner earned All-State honors.

Long Beach put together its most complete game of the season to knock off No. 25 state-ranked Moorpark 35-12 on Saturday. Freshman Montez Hunter (pictured) posted seven tackles with an interception and three pass breakups.
