An impressive 2015 Long Beach City College football season came to an end following the Vikings' 43-17 loss at Saddleback College in the Southern California Championship game on a cold Saturday night in Mission Viejo.

The Long Beach City College football team continues its run towards a state championship this Saturday in the Southern California championship game at Saddleback College, but on Monday the Vikings racked up 16 Southern California Football Association National Division All-Central League postseason honors.

Thoughts of an undefeated season came to a crashing end as the No. 1 nationally and state-ranked Long Beach City College Vikings were dealt their first loss of the season, a 34-14 defeat at Riverside City College on Saturday.

Sophomore Darren Johnson (Cabrillo HS) rushed for a career-high 268 yards while the Long Beach City College offense totaled a season-best 536 yards as the Vikings rolled to a 52-40 SCFA National Central League win over visiting Chaffey College on Saturday at Veterans Memorial Stadium.

Freshman Sergio Garcia's 19-yard field goal with no time left on the clock completed another second-half comeback for Long Beach City College as the Vikings edged visiting Allan Hancock College 20-17 in a non-league game at Veterans Memorial Stadium on Saturday night.

Trailing 21-7 to visiting Los Angeles Harbor College early in the third quarter, the Long Beach City College football team needed a spark to get its offense going. But it was sophomore corner back Kiante Goudeau (Edison HS) on defense that came up with the big plays when the Vikings needed them most. Goudeau had a pair of returns for touchdowns in the third quarter as LBCC rallied to beat the Seahawks 32-27 in both teams' SCFA National Central League opener at Veterans Memorial Stadium on Saturday.

Sophomore Darren Johnson (left) ran for 212 yards and two touchdowns while sophomore Josh Fatu (right) led a relentless Long Beach City College defense with four sacks in the Vikings' 38-7 home-opener win over Bakersfield College on Saturday at Veterans Memorial Stadium.
