The Long Beach City College offense erupted for 24 hits but still had to go to extra innings to defeat Southwestern College on the road by a final score of 13-9 on Saturday. The victory snapped the Vikings' two-game losing streak and improved their overall record to 4-3.

Sophomore Andrea Barba (Cypress HS) had a big day at the plate for LBCC, going 3 for 6 with a homerun, 4 RBI, and two runs. Her three-run homerun in the top of the eighth inning capped a four-run rally that secured the Long Beach win.

Sophomore Doreen Corella (San Pedro HS) had four hits and scored four runs to lead LBCC while sophomores Brianna Alvarez (Montebello HS), Gabbie De La Vega (Redondo Union HS), and Mayra Fausto (Bell HS) all had three hits. Sophomore Mariah Jacobo (La Serna HS) also added a two-run double and a RBI single.
