Pelle Places Fourth in CCCAA State Finals

Over the weekend, the Long Beach City College track & field team competed in the 2018 California Communtiy College Athletic Association (CCCAA) State Championships at Bakersfield College.

Long distance runner freshman Tylor Wallace qualified for the men's 1500 meter run and placed 10th overall in the state with a 4:08.01.

The men's 4x100 meter relay was successful and brought in points for eighth place. Sophomores Darnelle Harris and Mark Jones, and freshmen Marquel Angelo and Tyler Slack earned a 42.56 time for the relay.

Sophomore Sherrice Pelle earned a fourth place finish for the Vikings in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 15.10. Pelle has been constantly improving all season long and all her hard work paid off by earning herself an All-American athlete status while finishing fourth on the podium.

The track & field team will return next Spring.
