Long Beach City College's goal of reaching the State Championships Final Four for the first time since 1988 came up two games short as the fourth-seeded Vikings suffered a 45-39 loss to No. 5 Irvine Valley College on Wednesday night in a third-round Southern California Regional playoff game at the LBCC Hall of Champions Gym.

Women’s Basketball: No. 4 LBCC set to host No. 5 Irvine Valley in third-round playoff game

Thanks to its 64-51 playoff win over No. 13 Riverside City College on Saturday night, the No. 4 seeded Long Beach City College Vikings have advanced to Round 3 of the Southern California Regional Playoffs and will host the No. 5 Irvine Valley College Lasers on Wednesday (Mar. 2) at 7 p.m. at the LBCC Hall of Champions Gym.

Women's Basketball: Vikings total nine postseason honors, get No. 4 seed for SoCal Playoffs

The impressive 2015-16 season for the Long Beach City College women's basketball team will extend to the postseason as the Vikings were named the No. 4 seed for the upcoming Southern California Regional Playoffs. Also on Monday, LBCC racked up the honors, earning a pair of All-State accolades and seven all-conference awards.

Women’s Basketball: Vikings open SCC South schedule with 108-43 rout of L.A. Southwest

Long Beach City College got offensive, scoring a season-high 108 points in a 108-43 rout of Los Angeles Southwest College in both teams’ South Coast Conference South Division opener on Wednesday night at the Hall of Champions Gym. With the victory, Long Beach improved to 16-4 overall and 1-0 in SCC South play.

Women's Basketball: No. 3 Long Beach suffers third loss to No. 2 Mt. SAC

Long Beach City College has lost just four games this season, unfortunately three of them have come against South Coast Conference rival Mt. San Antonio College. LBCC couldn't hold a first-half lead and fell 61-50 on Friday to the Mounties in Walnut in a SCC interdivision game.

Women’s Basketball: Long Beach claims second tournament championship, beat IVC 46-40 in final

The Long Beach City College women’s basketball team extended its winning streak to seven games after going 3-0 over the weekend to capture the Irvine Valley College Tournament championship. The Vikings defeated host Irvine Valley in Saturday’s tourney final to earn their second tournament championship of the season.
