Women’s Basketball: Vikings pull out 60-55 SCC crossover win at L.A. Trade-Tech

Freshman Paris Lucci (Palos Verdes Peninsula HS) came off the bench to score a team-high 13 points to help lead Long Beach City College to a narrow 60-55 South Coast Conference interdivision victory at Los Angeles Trade-Tech College on Friday night. The win improved LBCC to 17-4 overall.

The two squads were tied 32-32 at halftime before Long Beach outscored L.A. Trade Tech (10-9) 28-23 in the second.

The Vikings were able to overcome a season-high 36 turnovers on the contest by dominating L.A. Trade-Tech on the boards. Long Beach outrebounded the Beavers by a 44-29 margin. Freshman Miranda Martinez (El Dorado HS) led LBCC with eight rebounds to go with eight points.

Freshman Sopavy Seng (Poly HS) also chipped in with 11 points while sophomore Lupe Cruz (South East HS) and freshman Ayerjenee Jeanmard (Poly HS) both scored eight points.

LBCC plays the second of three straight games on the road when the Vikings travel to El Camino College on Wednesday (Jan. 27) for a SCC South Division game that starts at 5 p.m.
