Mary McBride Signs with CSU Long Beach

After a highly successful season, the women's volleyball team and Head Coach Misty May-Treanor had their first player sign a National Letter of Intent for a Division I program. Freshman setter Mary McBride (Paradise Valley, AZ) put pen to paper and committed to participate at California State University – Long Beach this upcoming season following a phenomenal campaign for the Vikings.

McBride was a standout athlete for the women's volleyball program and the student-athlete body as a whole. While leading the South Coast Conference (SCC) – South in assists-per-set (10.27), the freshman was deemed one of the top setters in the state and earn All-SCC South First-Team Recognition after just one season. She recorded 40+ assists in 11 contests while never falling below 10 assists in a match. Additionally, she earned 52 kills that featured numerous drop shots to surprise opponent's defense.

McBride was not just a stud on the hardwood. She worked tirelessly in the classroom to earn herself the 2017 Harold Hofman Memorial Scholarship. The scholarship is given to a male and female athlete each year that display the top qualities of a student-athlete.
