Cross Country Competes at CCCAA State Championships

The men and women's cross-country team competed in the California Community College Athletics Association State Championships over the holiday weekend.

The men's team raced in the four-mile event, placed 21st with a total time of 1:54:26, and had an average time of 22:53. The women's team competed in the 3.1-mile race, took home 13th place with a total time of 1:48:40, and had an average time of 21:44.

Freshman Leonardo Acevedo was first for the Vikings on the men's side as he placed in the top 100 with a time of 21:28.6. and averaged 5:22.2 per mile.

Freshman Ailene Rios came in 33rd place for the Vikings with a time of 19:48.4 and averaged 6:23.4 per mile.

The Vikings will be back next Fall.
