Duane Baptiste (Basketball, 1949 & 1950): Baptiste was named team MVP in 1950 and was the squad’s second leading scorer. He was named first-team All-Metropolitan Conference his sophomore season. His 925 career points currently ranks No. 17 all-time in school history. Following LBCC, he played two seasons at San Jose State University (1951, 1952) and helped lead the Spartans to the NCAA tournament in 1951.
