Mickey Byers (Football/Track and Field, 1957-59): Byers earned football all-conference honors as sophomore in 1958. He closed his career ranked No. 6 on LBCC’s single season receiving list and seventh on the single season rushing list. In 1958, he was named to the Wigwam Junior College All-American team. Byers was a standout pole vaulter on the track team, setting the LBCC and Metropolitan Conference record in the event with a mark of 14-2 ½. He went on to finish second at the 1959 state finals.
