Sophomore defensive left Gilbert “Bubba” Valera signed a National Letter of Intent to finish his academic and athletic career at St. Francis University.

After finishing the season with a solid 8-3 record and a bowl win, three Long Beach City College athletes signed their National Letters of Intent to compete at the NCAA Division-I level Wednesday morning.

At the conclusion of the season, the Vikings saw 16 athletes receive Southern California Football Association (SCFA) National Division All-Central postseason honors.

The No. 13 Long Beach City College football team defeated the No. 15 Bakersfield College Renegades 37-10.

The No. 13 Long Beach City College football team is set to host one more game this season by hosting the 2017 Patriotic Bowl against No. 15 Bakersfield College on Saturday, Nov. 18 at Veterans Memorial Stadium at 4 p.m.
