LBCC sophomore Libby Berry (pictured) and freshman McKayla Thomas both scored five goals each to help lead the Vikings to a 21-8 South Coast Conference win over visiting Rio Hondo College on Wednesday. Long Beach also beat East Los Angeles 17-2 to close out the regular-season schedule.

Long Beach City College hosts the 16th annual truWest Battle at the Beach women's water polo tournament on Friday-Saturday (Oct 25-26). Seven of the state's top-10 teams will be in action at the tournament, which is taking place at LBCC and Cypress College.

The Long Beach City College women's water polo team went 0-2 to open the 16th annual TruWest Battle at the Beach tournament on Friday. The Vikings suffered a 14-5 loss to Fullerton and then was edged 7-5 by LA Valley. Adrienne Alaniz (pictured) scored twice in the loss to LA Valley.

Sophomore Ranya El-Tawil (pictured) scored four goals but it wasn’t enough as the No. 9 state-ranked Long Beach City College women’s water polo team suffered a 12-9 South Coast Conference loss to visiting Mt. San Antonio College on Wednesday.

Freshman McKayla Thomas (pictured) scored a game-high five goals and freshman Kendall Johnson posted 16 saves to lead the No. 9 state-ranked Long Beach City College women's water polo team to a 13-4 South Coast Conference win at Cerritos College on Wednesday.

Sophomore Taylor Faust (pictured) scored a game-high five goals to help lead the No. 6 state-ranked LBCC women's water polo team to a 19-4 South Coast Conference win over visiting Pasadena City College on Wednesday.

The Long Beach City College women's water polo team opened its season by going undefeated over the weekend at the two-day Cypress College tournament. Sophomore Jessica Diaz (pictured) scored seven goals in a 20-2 win over Santa Ana.

Former USA Olympic team captain and current Long Beach City College head coach Chris Oeding has been named to the USA Water Polo Women's Senior National Team coaching staff.
