Michele Bannister (Soccer, 1999 & 2000): Bannister was LBCC’s first ever National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Junior College National Player of the Year, earning the honor after leading the Vikings to the 2000 state championship. Bannister racked up the postseason honors, twice being named NSCAA All-American, NSCAA All-West Region, and All-South Coast Conference. As a sophomore, Bannister was named State Championships Most Valuable Player as well as SCC Player of the Year. She went on to play two seasons at Cal State Fullerton and was named first-team All-Big West Conference in 2001.
