Bernie Holloway (Track and Field, 1980-81): As a sophomore in 1981, Holloway won the Metropolitan Conference, Southern California, and state championship in the 400-meter intermediate hurdles with meet record times. His time of 50.28 at the state finals still stands as the LBCC school record. Holloway took his talents to San Jose State University and finished fourth (49.10) in the 400 hurdles at the NCAA Championships in 1982 and was second (50.43) as a senior in 1983. Holloway competed at the 1984 USA Olympic Trials and went on to run professionally in Europe.
